[Contract] Language Training Specialist - Japanese @Notion

Overview

Notion is seeking a Language Training Specialist for Japanese on a contract basis. The role supports localization for Customer Education, ensuring training content is accurate, culturally relevant, and ready for learners globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply Japanese localization QA standards across training content for accuracy, clarity, tone, and cultural nuance.
• Support the development of glossaries, style guides, QA checklists, and localization assets.
• Assist with translation queries related to Notion-specific concepts and training context.
• Conduct QA of technical implementation in eLearning tools and LMS environments.
• Coordinate across teams to align on priorities, timelines, and translation progress.
• Identify workflow risks and recommend quality improvements to reduce time-to-launch.
• Document processes to enhance the manageability of training and help center localization.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of localization workflows including vendor collaboration and QA processes.
• Experience with Japanese localization QA, preferably in SaaS or technical training.
• Ability to review translated content for quality and cultural nuances.
• Familiarity with eLearning or LMS tools; experience with Skilljar or Parta is a plus.
• Attention to detail in learner-facing content and project management skills.

Benefits

This role offers the flexibility of a part-time schedule of 20 hours/week with the option to extend after 6 months. Location is preferred in Tokyo, with openness to remote applicants.
