International Team Leader (Energy) – Renewable Energy Consultancy in Sub-Saharan Africa
Mercy Corps is seeking a highly experienced International Team Leader to support the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP III) through the development of off-grid renewable energy projects across Sub-Saharan Africa, with significant engagement in Nigeria.
This senior-level consultancy role is ideal for a seasoned renewable energy expert with deep experience in rural electrification, donor-funded programmes, and multi-country advisory leadership.

The Team Leader will provide strategic leadership and oversight for a pool of technical and transactional advisory experts under NESP III. The role requires high-level coordination with public and private sector stakeholders to strengthen enabling environments for renewable energy deployment.
This is a Key Expert consultancy assignment based in Sub-Saharan Africa, with up to 40% travel, including travel to potentially insecure or resource-limited locations.
The role demands at least 10 years of management experience, including leading donor-funded project teams.
