Overview

The International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD) has launched a Call for Proposals for its Dissemination Grant to Local Government Associations (2026), aimed at empowering organizations that work with municipalities to strengthen democratic governance in Africa.

Eligibility

Eligible organizations must be legally registered and operate in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, or Tanzania. They should focus on training, supporting, or representing local governments and demonstrate capacity in financial management and accountability.

Benefits

Funding of up to SEK 150,000 (including VAT) is available to facilitate training initiatives targeting local government representatives. Eligible expenses include personnel, training costs, and travel for participants.

Submit a proposal (maximum 5 pages excluding budget) via email to kc@icld.se. The proposal should detail organizational background, proposed activities, target group, ICLD tools to be used, expected outcomes, timeline, and budget.
