    Overview

    Nedbank's 2026 Group Internal Audit (GIA) Graduate Programme offers a structured opportunity for aspiring professionals to develop expertise in auditing, risk management, and regulatory compliance within one of South Africa’s leading financial institutions.     Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with risk-based audit scoping and evaluating internal controls.
    • Support audit planning, execution, and documentation of findings.
    • Conduct walkthroughs, sampling, and data analytics to assess control effectiveness.
    • Perform manual and automated control testing, including IT application and general controls.
    • Execute sample testing and data validation while maintaining workpaper quality.
    • Identify control weaknesses and assist in recommending remediation strategies.
    • Contribute to continuous auditing and monitoring initiatives.
    • Prepare clear, evidence-based audit findings with root cause analysis.
    • Maintain professional stakeholder engagement, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
    • Follow internal audit methodologies and IIA standards.

    Requirements

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Credit, ESG, Business & Commercial Banking, Markets, and Cyber Graduates may apply.
    • Relevant Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Science degrees in fields such as Internal Auditing, Accounting Sciences, Finance, Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Information Technology, or Cyber Security.
    • A Bachelor of Commerce in Internal Auditing or Accounting Sciences is required for Business and Commercial Banking.
    • For Cyber roles, relevant IT, Cyber Security qualifications, or certifications like CompTIA Security+ are considered.

    Experience:

    • One to two years of relevant experience is preferred, though strong academic performance and potential will be considered.
    • Prior exposure through internships, academic projects, or early career roles is valued.
    • Specific industry experience (e.g., banking, financial services, IT) may be preferred for certain streams.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Honours degree in Internal Auditing.
    • Knowledge of ethics, fraud detection, and governance frameworks.
    • Understanding of risk management and internal control systems.
    • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Foundational knowledge in cyber security principles and IT infrastructure (for cyber roles).
