Overview

The African Economic Scholars Program is a competitive fellowship open for applications from outstanding final year students and recent graduates across Africa, aiming to develop the next generation of policy makers through essential skills in research, policy making, and professional development.

Eligibility

Final year students or recent graduates from Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or related disciplines.
Must be from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa.
Must not have graduated before 2025.
A strong academic record with a minimum of second class upper or first class degree.
Demonstrate a clear interest in policy research and development.

Benefits

Participants will receive intensive training in policy analysis, research methods, and personal growth. Opportunities include working on a capstone project, publishing research, and potentially undergoing a two-month internship with partner think tanks for practical experience in policy development.
