    The Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) is a statutory council established under Section 37 of the Labour Relations Act, No. 66 of 1995, as amended.

    Contract: 24-Month Internship Programme

    The Council serves the South African public education sector by providing labour relations services to the Department of Basic Education, recognised trade unions and educators.

    The ELRC is responsible for promoting labour peace, preventing and resolving labour disputes, and facilitating collective bargaining on matters of mutual interest within the education sector.

    The Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified and unemployed South African graduates to participate in its 24-month Internship Programme based at the ELRC Head Office in Centurion.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must:

    • Be South African citizens.
    • Be unemployed graduates aged between 18 and 35 years.
    • Hold a relevant National Diploma or Degree from a recognised institution.

    • Not have previously participated in a graduate internship funded by a SETA or any government department.
    • Have good communication, interpersonal and computer literacy skills.
    • Be willing to work at the ELRC Head Office in Centurion.

    • Strong planning and organisational abilities.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Professionalism, integrity and a willingness to learn and develop.

    Internship Duration

    The internship programme will run for 24 months, providing graduates with structured workplace experience in their respective fields of study.

    Monthly Stipend

    Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend in accordance with ETDP SETA funding guidelines and the ELRC Policy.
