    Job Description

    Overview

    The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Employment and RCA Specialist to support newly arrived refugees and immigrants towards economic self-sufficiency through workforce development and Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) Program administration.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct employability assessments and provide program orientations.
    • Develop individualized employment plans and budget strategies.
    • Deliver job readiness training and job search coaching.
    • Build and maintain relationships with local employers and staffing agencies.
    • Support clients with job placements and address post-placement issues.
    • Monitor employment outcomes and performance metrics.
    • Maintain accurate client records and input data into internal systems.
    • Collaborate with community partners and service providers.
    • Conduct eligibility assessments and enrollments for the RCA Program.
    • Determine employability classifications and process cash assistance payments.
    • Maintain comprehensive case files and service logs.
    • Coordinate with internal teams regarding client status changes.
    • Serve as a policy resource for complex eligibility scenarios.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum two years of workforce development experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with refugee or immigrant populations highly desirable.
    • Background in job placement and readiness training advantageous.
    • Strong relationship-building, networking, and diplomacy skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in multicultural environments.
    • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
    • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages beneficial.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
