Overview
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Employment and RCA Specialist to support newly arrived refugees and immigrants towards economic self-sufficiency through workforce development and Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) Program administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct employability assessments and provide program orientations.
- Develop individualized employment plans and budget strategies.
- Deliver job readiness training and job search coaching.
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers and staffing agencies.
- Support clients with job placements and address post-placement issues.
- Monitor employment outcomes and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate client records and input data into internal systems.
- Collaborate with community partners and service providers.
- Conduct eligibility assessments and enrollments for the RCA Program.
- Determine employability classifications and process cash assistance payments.
- Maintain comprehensive case files and service logs.
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding client status changes.
- Serve as a policy resource for complex eligibility scenarios.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of workforce development experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with refugee or immigrant populations highly desirable.
- Background in job placement and readiness training advantageous.
- Strong relationship-building, networking, and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in multicultural environments.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
