Overview

The Sierra Ride Electric Vehicle Initiative 2026, launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Sierra Leone in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aims to modernize the country’s transport sector while creating economic opportunities for young drivers.

Eligibility

The programme targets young Sierra Leoneans aged 21 to 35 years interested in the green transport sector. Special priority is given to women and persons with disabilities.

Requirements

• Must be between 21 and 35 years old
• At least 3 years of driving experience
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Have a clean driving record
• Completed Senior Secondary Education
• Provide a Police Clearance Certificate
• Willingness to undergo training on electric vehicle technology
