    Overview

    The EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship is a program for emerging journalists to deepen their understanding of the European Union through a fully funded study tour to Brussels.

    Eligibility

    Applicants must:

    • Be 18 to 30 years old
    • Be actively enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or working in journalism
    • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
    • Demonstrate curiosity, strong research skills, and an interest in EU–Canada relations.

    Benefits

    Selected fellows will receive:

    • A fully funded study tour to Brussels in November 2026.
    • All travel, accommodation, and program costs covered.
    • A one-year CAJ membership or renewal.
    • An awards ceremony on Parliament Hill.

    How to Apply

    Submit the following:

    • A sample of work (unpublished or published within the last six months) focusing on the European Union or EU–Canada relations. Accepted formats include print/digital stories (up to 1,000 words), news reports (up to 90 seconds), or mini-documentaries (4–5 minutes).
    • A letter of motivation outlining reporting intentions and professional development goals.
    • A Curriculum Vitae.
    • Proof of citizenship or permanent residency.

    Incomplete applications will not be considered.
