    Overview

    The Re-Earth Initiative Climate Policy Fellowship for Indigenous Youth is a one-year program designed to empower Indigenous youth leaders to participate in international climate negotiations under the UNFCCC, ensuring Indigenous perspectives are represented in climate policymaking.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Engage in global climate governance and policymaking.
    • Participate in international climate negotiation events, including SB 64 and COP 31.
    • Develop expertise in selected thematic negotiation tracks (Climate Mitigation, Article 6, Climate Adaptation, Climate Finance).
    • Participate in virtual training sessions on climate policy analysis, UNFCCC procedures, negotiation literacy, and advocacy strategies.
    • Conduct policy research and contribute to policy brief development.

    Requirements

    • Ages 18–30
    • Self-identify as Indigenous
    • Demonstrated meaningful connection to their community or Nation
    • Prior engagement in climate justice, Indigenous rights, territorial defense, or policy advocacy
    • Strong motivation to participate in international climate negotiations
    • Commitment to community accountability and ethical representation
    • Ability to collaborate across cultures and regions
