Overview
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Cost Research Advisor to influence humanitarian programming through cost analysis and evidence synthesis. This role supports the Best Use of Resources (BUR) team within the Airbel innovation lab, promoting data-driven decision-making in a challenging global funding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and cost analysis, including cost-efficiency and cost-effectiveness studies, scenario modeling, and data synthesis.
- Develop and maintain program-specific datasets and produce policy-relevant research outputs.
- Provide technical assistance and knowledge translation, developing actionable recommendations and supporting funding proposals with cost-effectiveness evidence.
- Support cross-cutting institutional objectives, including reporting, document writing, and dissemination of evidence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related analytical field.
- 2-3+ years of relevant experience (depending on degree level), with experience in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong knowledge of cost analysis methodologies, advanced spreadsheet data analysis, and research writing skills.
- Experience managing partnerships and familiarity with donor funding mechanisms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools; fluency in English.
- Preferred qualifications include proficiency in statistical software, data visualization, quantitative/qualitative evidence synthesis, peer-reviewed publication experience, and French language proficiency.
