The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is inviting passionate individuals to apply as Online UN Volunteers to support its advocacy campaign for the International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF) 2026. This is the second call for applications, offering another opportunity for people around the world to contribute to a meaningful United Nations initiative without leaving their homes.
The initiative is coordinated by the FAO Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa (RNE) and seeks dedicated Online Campaign Advocates who will help raise awareness about the vital role women play in agriculture and food systems. This online volunteer opportunity is ideal for students, graduates, professionals, content creators, youth leaders, gender advocates, and anyone interested in using digital platforms to create positive social impact.
Women play an essential role in global agrifood systems. They contribute significantly to food production, agricultural innovation, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and rural development. Despite their enormous contributions, many women farmers continue to face barriers such as limited access to land, financing, technology, education, markets, and decision-making opportunities.
The International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF) 2026 aims to bring international attention to these challenges while celebrating the achievements and resilience of women working across agricultural value chains.

You will help educate your audience by sharing stories, facts, and campaign messages highlighting the important role women play in agrifood systems.
Advocates will encourage conversations around equal opportunities, inclusion, and the challenges women farmers continue to face.
