Overview

GOALPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) is hiring for positions within its humanitarian programs focused on improving the lives of vulnerable women and children in Nigeria. Roles include Community Based Transitional Lawyer, Protection Officer, and Child Safeguarding Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the rollout and integration of the Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Conduct safeguarding risk assessments and monitor adherence to protocols.
• Receive, document, and manage safeguarding concerns confidentially.
• Support safeguarding inductions and awareness sessions for staff, volunteers, children, and community leaders.
• Conduct safeguarding compliance checks and strengthen local safeguarding mechanisms.
• Promote safe participation of children in program design and support feedback mechanisms.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or related field.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in child protection or safeguarding programming.
• Experience in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings is preferred.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles, child protection standards, and referral pathways.
• Strong knowledge of child safeguarding and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
• Ability to identify risks, handle sensitive cases confidentially, and work with vulnerable groups.
• Good documentation, reporting, facilitation, and communication skills.
