Scope of Responsibilities
The Electrician will perform complex electrical, solar, and energy system installation and maintenance across MSF facilities in Abuja, including offices, hospitals, warehouses, and guest houses. Responsibilities include:
Generator Systems
- Perform generator sizing based on load calculations for offices, hospitals, guest houses, and warehouses.
- Install generators including cabling, grounding, and protection systems.
- Conduct testing and commissioning to ensure correct operation, safety, and compliance.
- Plan and perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions.
- Train technical logistics staff and watchmen on generator operations and changeover switches.
Solar Energy Systems
- Install, operate, and maintain solar systems in all project facilities.
- Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and performance testing.
- Monitor system performance, identify faults, and recommend upgrades.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for installation and maintenance.
- Maintain technical documentation including system layouts, maintenance logs, and spare parts inventory.
Electrical Distribution and Safety
- Maintain and label electrical distribution boards for safety and clarity.
- Install and test grounding and earthing systems.
- Perform regular electrical safety and performance tests, including insulation resistance, earth resistance, voltage, installation, and residual current circuit breaker tests.
General Responsibilities
- Carry out critical maintenance, repairs, and installations as required.
- Maintain accurate inventories of electrical installations and equipment.
- Identify local technical actors and coordinate training, contracts, and procurement.
- Manage stock of consumables, tools, and equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and maintain proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Electrician diploma or recognized formal training
Experience
- Minimum of two years working experience as an electrician or solar system technician
- Experience with solar systems, generators, power sizing tools, ATS, and electrical troubleshooting
Languages
Knowledge and Skills
