Young Changemakers Invited to Apply for Global UN Youth Leadership Initiative on Sustainable Food Systems

United Nations (UN) Food Systems Coordination Hub has officially opened applications for the 2026 edition of the Food Systems Youth Leadership Programme (YLP), inviting young changemakers from around the world to join a growing network of emerging leaders working to transform global food systems.

Following the success of its inaugural cohort, the programme is expanding its international reach to support youth leaders engaged in policy, science, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and grassroots community action aimed at advancing sustainable and resilient food systems.

Applications for the programme will close on 13 July 2026.

About the Youth Leadership Programme

The Food Systems Youth Leadership Programme is led by the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub with support from Germany through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The initiative is designed to equip young professionals with:

• Leadership and systems-thinking skills
• Global and regional networking opportunities
• Knowledge on food systems transformation
• Tools to drive sustainable change within communities and institutions
• Collaborative learning experiences with peers and policymakers
