    Overview

    This program offers a three-day in-person training in Kunming, China, from September 7 to 9, 2026, aimed at strengthening knowledge, skills, and collaboration among professionals focused on advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across Asia and Europe.

    Eligibility

    The training program targets a diverse group of stakeholders committed to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment throughout the ASEM region. Primary participants may include representatives from ministries responsible for women’s affairs, gender commissions, civil society organisations, and other related bodies. Secondary participants may include academic institutions, private sector organisations, and development agencies that support women’s empowerment.

    Applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Be citizens of eligible ASEM Partner countries.
    • Demonstrate working proficiency in English.
    • Hold positions that influence policy development, programme design, or advocacy.
    • Show a commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s participation.

    Students without relevant professional work experience are not eligible to apply.

    Benefits

    Selected participants will receive financial support, including:

    • Reimbursement of economy-class round-trip airfare to and from Kunming.
    • Four nights of accommodation at the training venue.

    This funding ensures that qualified professionals can participate regardless of geographic location.
