GENVET / WAAVP-AN Scholarship Programme 2026 – Call for Applications
Applications are now open for the GENVET / WAAVP-AN Scholarship Programme 2026, a fully funded training opportunity designed for veterinary parasitologists and allied professionals across West and Central Africa.
This transformative programme focuses on building capacity in Parasite Genomics and Epidemiology through a three-month hybrid training format, combining online learning with in-person sessions in Ghana and Nigeria.
Programme Overview
The scholarship offers participants an intensive learning experience that includes:
• Fully funded 3-month hybrid training (online and in-person)
• Hands-on laboratory and bioinformatics training sessions
• A capstone project leading to certification upon completion
Focus Areas
Participants will gain knowledge and practical skills in key areas such as:
• Molecular Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Resistance
• Parasite Genomics and Bioinformatics
• One Health Applications
• Policy Linkages and Ethics
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Aged between 25 and 40 years
• Citizen of a West or Central African country
• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Parasitology, Animal Health, or Biological Sciences
• At least 1–2 years of laboratory or diagnostic experience
Scholarship Coverage
The programme provides comprehensive support, including:
• Travel expenses
• Accommodation and per diem during in-person sessions
