Overview
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Communication and Knowledge Management Intern to support its work on food systems and climate policy. This internship offers early-career professionals an opportunity to contribute to evidence-based research, policy communication, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation of policy briefs, reports, fact sheets, and analytical documents.
- Conducting background research and summarising technical information.
- Contributing to the development of evidence-based communication materials.
- Assisting in reviewing research literature related to climate, agriculture, and nutrition.
- Analysing policy developments and identifying key insights.
- Translating technical and data-heavy findings into accessible narratives.
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of webinars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events.
- Preparing supporting materials such as presentation slides, briefing notes, and background documents.
- Supporting the dissemination of knowledge products across stakeholder networks.
- Helping manage multiple tasks and deadlines across ongoing projects.
- Supporting communication among internal teams and external partners.
- Contributing to collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in policy research, communication, and development work related to food systems and sustainability. Key competencies include:
- Ability to interpret technical information and research data.
- Strong synthesis skills for summarising complex material.
- Excellent written communication and content development abilities.
- Capability to present technical information clearly and logically.
- Experience translating research findings into concise and engaging outputs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good coordination and planning skills.
- Comfortable working in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds.
- Experience supporting online or offline events is advantageous.
