    Overview

    The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Communication and Knowledge Management Intern to support its work on food systems and climate policy. This internship offers early-career professionals an opportunity to contribute to evidence-based research, policy communication, and stakeholder engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supporting the preparation of policy briefs, reports, fact sheets, and analytical documents.
    • Conducting background research and summarising technical information.
    • Contributing to the development of evidence-based communication materials.
    • Assisting in reviewing research literature related to climate, agriculture, and nutrition.
    • Analysing policy developments and identifying key insights.
    • Translating technical and data-heavy findings into accessible narratives.
    • Assisting in the planning and coordination of webinars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events.
    • Preparing supporting materials such as presentation slides, briefing notes, and background documents.
    • Supporting the dissemination of knowledge products across stakeholder networks.
    • Helping manage multiple tasks and deadlines across ongoing projects.
    • Supporting communication among internal teams and external partners.
    • Contributing to collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in policy research, communication, and development work related to food systems and sustainability. Key competencies include:

    • Ability to interpret technical information and research data.
    • Strong synthesis skills for summarising complex material.
    • Excellent written communication and content development abilities.
    • Capability to present technical information clearly and logically.
    • Experience translating research findings into concise and engaging outputs.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Good coordination and planning skills.
    • Comfortable working in multi-stakeholder environments.
    • Ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds.
    • Experience supporting online or offline events is advantageous.
