Overview

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Communication and Knowledge Management Intern to support its work on food systems and climate policy. This internship offers early-career professionals an opportunity to contribute to evidence-based research, policy communication, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the preparation of policy briefs, reports, fact sheets, and analytical documents.
Conducting background research and summarising technical information.
Contributing to the development of evidence-based communication materials.
Assisting in reviewing research literature related to climate, agriculture, and nutrition.
Analysing policy developments and identifying key insights.
Translating technical and data-heavy findings into accessible narratives.
Assisting in the planning and coordination of webinars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events.
Preparing supporting materials such as presentation slides, briefing notes, and background documents.
Supporting the dissemination of knowledge products across stakeholder networks.
Helping manage multiple tasks and deadlines across ongoing projects.
Supporting communication among internal teams and external partners.
Contributing to collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in policy research, communication, and development work related to food systems and sustainability. Key competencies include:

Ability to interpret technical information and research data.
Strong synthesis skills for summarising complex material.
Excellent written communication and content development abilities.
Capability to present technical information clearly and logically.
Experience translating research findings into concise and engaging outputs.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good coordination and planning skills.
Comfortable working in multi-stakeholder environments.

Experience supporting online or offline events is advantageous.
