Overview

This grant programme offers funding support to researchers and scholars engaged in studies related to graphic culture, visual communication, design history, photography, and archival research.

Eligibility

• Scholars and researchers working in fields related to graphic culture.
• Full-time researchers employed at universities, museums, libraries, archives, and research institutions.
• Faculty members and curators.
• Archivists and librarians.
• Independent researchers recommended by a qualified academic or professional supervisor.

Benefits

Successful applicants may receive funding support for either one-year or two-year research periods:

• Grant of up to 500,000 Japanese Yen (JPY) per year.
• One-year projects: January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2027.
• Two-year projects: January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2028.

Interested applicants must complete registration through the foundation’s online application system before submitting their proposals. Required documents include:

• Research Plan Form.
• Recommendation Form (if applicable).
• Supporting research information.

Full-time researchers at universities, museums, and research institutions are generally exempt from submitting recommendation letters.
