The Gender Mainstreaming & Safeguarding Associate will play a central role in embedding gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding principles throughout a flagship entrepreneurship programme operating across four African countries.
The successful candidate will work closely with programme teams, implementing partners, and stakeholders to ensure that entrepreneurship initiatives create respectful, safe, and inclusive environments for participants.

The successful candidate will lead several important initiatives aimed at strengthening inclusion and safeguarding across GrowthAfrica’s programmes.
Responsibilities include:
Integrate gender equality principles throughout programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Develop and improve safeguarding policies, reporting procedures, and response mechanisms that protect programme participants.
Assess programme activities to identify barriers affecting participation and recommend strategies that improve inclusion.
Design and deliver training sessions that build staff and partner capacity on gender equality, safeguarding, and inclusive programming.
Track programme performance by measuring inclusion indicators, safeguarding compliance, and overall effectiveness.
Prepare reports demonstrating programme achievements, safeguarding performance, and gender mainstreaming outcomes for funding partners.
Document lessons learned and recommend improvements that strengthen GrowthAfrica’s long-term organisational practices.
