About the Gender Mainstreaming & Safeguarding Associate Role

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead several important initiatives aimed at strengthening inclusion and safeguarding across GrowthAfrica’s programmes.

Responsibilities include:

1. Lead Gender Mainstreaming

Integrate gender equality principles throughout programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

2. Strengthen Safeguarding Systems

Develop and improve safeguarding policies, reporting procedures, and response mechanisms that protect programme participants.

3. Conduct Gender and Inclusion Analysis

Assess programme activities to identify barriers affecting participation and recommend strategies that improve inclusion.

4. Train Programme Teams and Partners

Design and deliver training sessions that build staff and partner capacity on gender equality, safeguarding, and inclusive programming.

5. Monitor Inclusion Outcomes

Track programme performance by measuring inclusion indicators, safeguarding compliance, and overall effectiveness.

6. Support Donor Reporting

Prepare reports demonstrating programme achievements, safeguarding performance, and gender mainstreaming outcomes for funding partners.

7. Contribute to Organisational Learning

Document lessons learned and recommend improvements that strengthen GrowthAfrica’s long-term organisational practices.
