    The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is inviting qualified and motivated professionals to apply for the position of Liaison Officer – North West.

    This permanent opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in stakeholder engagement, public relations, communications, regulatory affairs, or public sector engagement who are passionate about community outreach and public advocacy.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting awareness of ICASA’s regulatory responsibilities, consumer-focused regulations, and industry developments while building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the North West Province.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Regional Manager: North West, the Liaison Officer will be responsible for implementing advocacy programmes, engaging communities and stakeholders, promoting ICASA’s regulatory initiatives, and strengthening the Authority’s public image.

    The role requires excellent communication skills, stakeholder management experience, and the ability to work independently while coordinating advocacy campaigns throughout the province.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Planning and implementing advocacy programmes in line with ICASA’s business plan.
    • Identifying potential risks affecting advocacy initiatives and developing mitigation strategies.

    • Building partnerships with regulatory bodies, government departments, ICASA licensees, state-owned communications entities, and other stakeholders.
    • Securing support from municipalities, traditional leaders, and relevant provincial bodies for outreach campaigns.

    • Coordinating logistics and ensuring the successful delivery of advocacy events.
    • Preparing and presenting information on ICASA regulations, consumer rights, and regulatory developments.

    • Educating communities about communications and postal sector regulations.
    • Remaining informed about industry developments to provide accurate and current information.
    • Promoting ICASA’s brand, values, and public image through effective stakeholder engagement.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6); or
    • Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in:
      • Communication
      • Public Relations
      • ICT
      • Business Administration
      • Public Administration
      • Law

    Experience Required

    Applicants should have:

    • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in:
      • Stakeholder relations
      • Customer service
      • Regulatory affairs
      • Public sector engagement
    • Experience within the ICT, postal, or regulatory sectors will be an added advantage.
    • A valid non-endorsed driver’s licence.
