Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme, a prestigious new initiative designed to support the next generation of leaders in peacebuilding and humanitarian diplomacy. The programme is jointly organized by Interpeace and the Geneva Graduate Institute with support from the Foundation for the Adaptation of International Geneva.
The nine-month residential fellowship in Geneva will bring together 10 fellows from around the world to engage in cutting-edge work on peacebuilding, humanitarian action, diplomacy, and inclusive leadership. The programme aims to strengthen Geneva’s role as a global hub for peace and humanitarian innovation while creating opportunities for emerging professionals to contribute to real-world policy and operational initiatives.
The International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme was established in response to growing global challenges affecting multilateral cooperation, conflict prevention, and humanitarian response systems. The fellowship seeks to equip emerging and mid-career professionals with the practical experience, leadership skills, networks, and mentorship necessary to drive innovative solutions in peace and humanitarian diplomacy.
Selected fellows will live and work in Geneva from September 2026 to June 2027, gaining direct exposure to the institutions, organizations, and policy platforms that shape international peace efforts. Fellows will be housed at the historic Domaine Barton on the shores of Lake Geneva and participate in collaborative projects, learning exchanges, institutional placements, and leadership development activities throughout the programme.
The programme is structured around three major pillars designed to combine research, practical experience, and leadership development.
The fellowship includes a fully immersive residential experience in Geneva where fellows will work on future-oriented projects related to global peace and humanitarian challenges. Fellows will also participate in visits, dialogues, and networking opportunities across International Geneva.
Participants will be embedded within leading institutions working in peacebuilding and humanitarian diplomacy. Fellows will receive mentorship from experts while contributing to operational projects and policy initiatives aligned with their expertise and interests.
