Overview

This position offers an opportunity to work as a Research Associate focusing on the impacts of climate change on agriculture in Southern Africa, specifically investigating carbon dynamics and extreme climate events.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct academic research within the projects M3 and A3.
Utilize biophysical crop modeling, data processing, and statistical analysis.
Integrate climate impact assessments with global agricultural models.
Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
Pursue doctoral studies through the School of Integrated Climate and Earth System Sciences (SICSS), if desired.
Contribute to research publications and knowledge exchange.

Requirements

University degree in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or related disciplines.
Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python.
Experience in biophysical crop modeling, data analysis, statistics, or machine learning is advantageous.
Strong team orientation with an interest in interdisciplinary research.
Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
