Freelance journalists
Staff reporters
Photographers and documentary filmmakers
Radio and television journalists
Newsrooms and collaborative reporting teams

Benefits

Funding typically covers:

Reporting and production costs
Multimedia development
Contractor services such as data analysis, illustration, and storytelling design

The program does not cover:

Book projects or feature-length films
Staff salaries for newsroom employees
Equipment purchases
Organizational overheads
Advocacy or marketing campaigns
Academic research without a strong journalism component

How to Apply

Applicants must submit a proposal that includes a project description, preliminary budget estimate, and a distribution plan. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
