Overview
This position offers the opportunity to work as a Learning & Development Specialist with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Abuja, Nigeria. The role focuses on developing and implementing learning and development activities to enhance staff capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor L&D tools, processes, and plans in line with MSF standards.
- Conduct learning needs assessments and develop Mission Learning Plans (MLP).
- Collaborate with HR and departmental managers to support staff development across the employee lifecycle.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs, workshops, coaching, and mentoring initiatives.
- Lead induction programs, including the “Welcome to MSF” course.
- Facilitate individual learning plans and support staff in achieving development goals.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of training activities and learning outcomes.
- Monitor online learning platforms and provide regular reports on engagement and progress.
- Evaluate L&D programs and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Act as a technical advisor on L&D matters and support projects across the mission when required.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in a relevant role; experience with adult learning methodologies and prior MSF or NGO experience is advantageous.
- Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of employee lifecycle and L&D processes; proficiency in Microsoft Office; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment; commitment to MSF principles.
- Language: Advanced English proficiency (C1 level required); knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
