    Overview

    The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Young Scientists Awards is a prestigious global initiative designed to empower emerging researchers in ecology, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability science.

    Eligibility

    • Must be 35 years old or younger at the time of application deadline.
    • Engaged in scientific research or postgraduate studies with a background in fields such as:
      • Environmental Science
      • Ecology
      • Biology
      • Geography
      • Natural Resource Management
      • Climate Science
      • Related interdisciplinary fields
    • Your research must be interdisciplinary and related to a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
    • Must be endorsed by a UNESCO MAB National Committee or National Commission for UNESCO.
    • Research must be completed within 2 years.

    Benefits

    • Financial support of up to USD $5,000 per research project.

    How to Apply

    • Prepare a clear research proposal with objectives, methodology, expected outcomes, and linkage to biosphere reserves.
    • Obtain national endorsement from the UNESCO MAB National Committee or National UNESCO Commission.
    • Complete application form available in English or French.
