Overview
Okendo is seeking a full-time Management Accountant to join its Finance team in Australia. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, and is aimed at supporting Okendo's growth by providing financial insights and maintaining financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts such as P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain and enhance the integrity of the general ledger.
- Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, working with department heads.
- Examine operating costs and monitor COGS and operational expenditure against budget.
- Prepare BAS, GST, and tax workpapers, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Administer and improve accounting systems (Xero) and help drive process automation.
- Act as a financial partner providing insights to support commercial decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of post-qualification experience in management accounting or financial reporting.
- Strong command of month-end close and management reporting.
- Proficiency in cloud accounting platforms, preferably Xero.
- Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets; BI tools experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Intellectually curious and detail-oriented.
