Eligibility

Applicants must be:

• Mandela Rhodes Alumni from 2005 onwards, or
• Rhodes Scholar Alumni from 2005 onwards

Selected winners will share funding of up to $100,000 annually. The prize supports between one and four winners each year, depending on the quality of applications received. Benefits include:

How to Apply

The application process involves the following steps:

• Indicate Interest: Expression of Interest Opens: 20 May 2026 – Deadline: 17 June 2026
• Invitation to Apply: Selected candidates will be invited to submit full applications.
• Submit Full Application: Application Period: 1 July 2026 – 21 July 2026
• Interview and Pitch: Longlisted candidates will participate in interviews during the week of 17 August 2026.
• Final Selection: Winners will be publicly announced on 18 September 2026.
