Overview

The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) is accepting applications for 20 Youth Technical Experts to support the African Youth Charter @20 appraisal. The opportunity is a paid position with a stipend of $1,000 USD.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead participatory, evidence-based assessments of how African Union frameworks, including the African Youth Charter, are implemented.
• Synthesize youth consultation outcomes and analyze governance and participation trends.
• Identify implementation gaps and document barriers to youth participation.
• Contribute to a consolidated continental policy brief.
• Coordinate consultation processes and ensure outputs align with AYC @20 commemorations.

Requirements

• Aged between 18 and 35 years old.
• Must be a national of an African Union Member State.
• Active in civil society, youth networks, or community-based organizations.
• Demonstrated interest in youth governance, policy, and development.
• Fluency in English and/or French; knowledge of Portuguese, Arabic, or Swahili is an advantage.
• Prior experience in research, advocacy, or community engagement preferred.
