    The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is recruiting Program Officers (Outbreak Response) to support polio eradication efforts across Africa, with a strong focus on Nigeria.     🎯 Role Overview

    As a Program Officer, you will play a critical role in managing outbreak response strategies, particularly for Type 2 circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV2). You will collaborate with partners, analyze program data, and drive high-impact interventions in high-risk areas, especially in Northern Nigeria.

    🔧 Key Responsibilities

    • Support implementation of polio outbreak response strategies
    • Act as focal point for high-priority states in Northern Nigeria
    • Analyze data to track risks, performance, and program outcomes
    • Strengthen Emergency Operations Center (EOC) coordination and execution
    • Improve campaign quality to reach missed children
    • Manage grants and contracts, ensuring accountability and results
    • Review proposals and provide funding recommendations
    • Prepare reports and briefs for decision-making
    • Promote strong collaboration with partners and stakeholders

    🎓 Requirements

    • Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in Public Health, Development, or related field
    • Experience in public health programs or development projects
    • Knowledge of polio eradication, outbreak response, or vaccine delivery
    • Strong data analysis, communication, and reporting skills
    • Ability to work across diverse teams and environments
    • Willingness to travel (30–40%)
