Regenerosity, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting grassroots leaders restoring ecosystems and revitalizing livelihoods, has announced a call for applications for the position of East Africa Learning Lead & Facilitator.
Nonprofit Organization Opens Applications for Remote East Africa-Based Role Focused on Peer Learning, Agroecology, and Community-Led Development
The remote, part-time contractor role is open to candidates based in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, with applications closing on July 10, 2026.
The position offers an opportunity for experienced facilitators, educators, and practitioners in regeneration, permaculture, agroecology, and related fields to play a central role in strengthening community-led environmental and food systems initiatives across East Africa.
According to Regenerosity, the successful candidate will oversee and facilitate peer learning circles, partner engagement sessions, and collaborative learning processes for organizations participating in the nonprofit’s Blossom Capacity Strengthening Program. The role is expected to require approximately 1.5 days per month, totaling more than 20 days annually, with compensation set at US$200 per day.
The East Africa Learning Lead & Facilitator will work closely with the East Africa Regional Program Coordinator to create learning frameworks that support grassroots organizations working on ecosystem restoration, food sovereignty, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable livelihoods. The role will also involve fostering partnerships with technical experts, mentors, and practitioners who can contribute to the success of participating organizations.
Founded as a trust-based philanthropic organization, Regenerosity works to resource grassroots and community-rooted groups restoring degraded landscapes and building ecological resilience. The organization’s approach centers local leadership, Indigenous knowledge, cultural sovereignty, and community-driven solutions to environmental and social challenges.
The new position forms part of Regenerosity’s expanding Blossom Capacity Strengthening Program, an initiative launched in 2020 to provide funding, peer learning opportunities, storytelling support, and strategic partnerships for grassroots organizations working at the intersection of ecology, livelihoods, and food systems.
The upcoming East Africa cohort will include five grassroots organizations from Kenya and Uganda, primarily located within the Lake Victoria bioregion. These organizations will receive two years of catalytic funding, project co-design support, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and storytelling assistance aimed at amplifying their impact.
Key responsibilities for the Learning Lead include facilitating monthly peer learning circles, supporting participatory project co-design processes, contributing to monitoring and evaluation activities, capturing lessons learned, assisting with storytelling initiatives, and contributing to reports for funders and stakeholders.
The selected candidate will also help identify and coordinate technical advisors, organize workshops and special events, and support strategic planning activities alongside Regenerosity’s international team.
Regenerosity is seeking candidates with at least five years of participatory facilitation experience working with grassroots communities, along with demonstrated expertise in regeneration, agroecology, permaculture, community development, education, international development, or related disciplines.
Applicants should possess a strong understanding of East Africa’s political, cultural, and ecological contexts, as well as experience in monitoring and evaluation systems, data collection, reporting, and community-led program development. Strong communication skills and fluency in English are required, while proficiency in Swahili and other regional languages will be considered an advantage.
The organization noted that the role is ideal for proactive professionals who enjoy collaborative problem-solving, relationship building, and supporting locally led solutions to environmental and social challenges.
In addition to flexible remote work arrangements, the position offers opportunities to contribute to a growing international nonprofit, collaborate with grassroots changemakers, and help shape regenerative development initiatives across East Africa.
Applications are currently open. Interested candidates are required to submit a resume and brief cover email outlining their relevant experience, skills, and motivation for applying. Applications should be sent to faith.flanigan@regenerosity.world with the subject line: EAST AFRICA LEARNING LEAD & FACILITATOR APPLICANT.
