Artificial Intelligence is transforming nearly every aspect of modern life—from education and work to communication and relationships. While AI presents exciting opportunities, it also raises important questions about loneliness, digital well-being, and the future of human connection. To ensure young people are not just passive users of technology but active architects of a more connected future, The Rithm Project has opened applications for its Rithm Fellowship 2026–2027.
This paid fellowship is designed for five exceptional young leaders aged 18 to 22 who are passionate about shaping conversations around AI, technology, mental health, education, and human relationships. Fellows will receive a USD $2,000 stipend, work alongside researchers and innovators, contribute to national conversations, and help influence how society approaches human connection in the age of artificial intelligence.
The Rithm Project is a mission-driven organization dedicated to building a future where human connection thrives alongside artificial intelligence. Rather than viewing AI solely through the lens of productivity or technological advancement, the organization focuses on helping young people cultivate meaningful relationships, empathy, belonging, and community in an increasingly digital world.
The organization conducts youth-centered research, develops educational tools and resources, convenes leaders across sectors, and creates opportunities for young people to influence conversations around AI and society. Its vision is to ensure that the next generation helps shape technologies that strengthen rather than weaken human relationships.
The Rithm Fellowship is a youth leadership programme where participants play an active role in shaping The Rithm Project’s work. Rather than simply attending workshops, fellows become trusted collaborators whose perspectives help guide research, influence organizational strategy, and shape products designed for young people.
The fellowship intentionally brings together a diverse cohort of five individuals from different backgrounds, experiences, and geographic locations. The goal is to create a community where varied lived experiences contribute to richer conversations about AI, connection, and the future.
The fellowship runs from September 2026 through May 2027, combining leadership development, collaborative project work, public engagement, and opportunities to represent youth voices in national conversations.

By joining this fellowship, participants will not only develop leadership and communication skills but also contribute to research, public dialogue, and practical solutions that prioritize empathy, connection, and human flourishing. Whether your passion lies in education, technology, mental health, public policy, or community organizing, this fellowship offers a platform to make your voice heard and collaborate with leaders committed to building a healthier digital future.
