    Overview

    The Graham Earp Scholarship in Sustainability and the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) Donor-Funded Scholarship in Risk are prestigious awards designed to support talented postgraduate students pursuing degrees in the Department of Geography at Durham University.

    Eligibility

    • International students applying for an in-person MA or MSc programme in the Geography Department.
    • Must begin their postgraduate studies in September 2026.
    • Be classified as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes.
    • Be self-funded (not receiving any other scholarships or funding).
    • Meet or exceed the academic entry requirements for the chosen programme.
    • Complete and submit the official Geography/IHRR scholarship application form.

    Benefits

    Each scholarship offers £7,000 in tuition fee reductions toward the total tuition cost of an eligible MA or MSc programme. Up to three scholarships will be awarded under each scheme.

    How to Apply

    1. Apply for a Postgraduate Programme: Submit an academic application through Durham University's postgraduate online application portal. A student ID will be given, which is required for the scholarship application.
    2. Submit the Scholarship Application: Fill out the Geography/IHRR Masters Scholarships application form after completing the academic application.

    All scholarship applications must be submitted no later than 31 March 2026.
