The SKAID Foundation has announced the opening of applications for the SKAID Gambia Masters Scholarship Scheme 2026, targeted at qualified indigenes of Southern Kaduna. This initiative is designed to support postgraduate education at the American International University, The Gambia.
The scholarship provides opportunities for candidates to enroll in specialized programmes, including the Conversion of Pharmaceutical Technician to Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) and a Master’s Programme in Medical Laboratory Technology.
According to the foundation, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. Prospective candidates are required to be indigenes of Southern Kaduna and graduates of recognized universities. In addition, applicants must possess a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 and must have studied a course related to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
Furthermore, applicants must have successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. They are also expected to demonstrate a willingness to serve as SKAID Ambassadors upon completion of their studies, contributing to the development of their communities.
Interested candidates are required to submit several documents as part of the application process. These include a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), proof of state or local government of origin, certified true copies of academic transcripts and degree certificates, and a Statement of Purpose not exceeding 500 words. Additionally, applicants must provide two academic or professional reference letters.
The Statement of Purpose is a critical component of the application and should clearly articulate how the chosen Master’s programme aligns with and contributes to the developmental goals of Southern Kaduna.
