    This opportunity is designed for ambitious agricultural science graduates seeking hands-on experience within South Africa’s dynamic seed industry while contributing to national agricultural development.

    SANSOR is a well-established industry organization representing the seed sector both nationally and internationally. The organization also administers the South African Seed Certification Scheme on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture.

    The internship will run on a 12-month temporary contract from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2027 and will be primarily office-based in Pretoria, with local and extensive travel requirements.

    South African National Seed Organization serves as the leading representative body for South Africa’s seed industry.

    The organization protects and advances the interests of the seed trade while ensuring compliance with seed certification regulations that support agricultural quality and sustainability.

    The internship offers successful candidates direct exposure to industry operations, regulatory compliance, seed certification systems, and agricultural sector administration.

    Key Responsibilities

    The selected intern will support the organization in a wide range of technical and administrative functions, including:

    Secretariat and Administrative Duties

    • Managing secretarial functions for meetings
    • Preparing meeting agendas
    • Recording meeting minutes
    • Following up on action points arising from meetings

    Seed Certification Administration

    • Supporting execution of the South African Seed Certification Scheme
    • Conducting administrative and field monitoring activities
    • Managing certification documentation and compliance records

    Technical and Industry Support

    • Performing technical and administrative duties related to seed industry matters
    • Advising members regarding legislation affecting the seed trade
    • Assisting with other operational functions within SANSOR

    Candidate Profile

    SANSOR is looking for a highly motivated graduate who meets the following requirements:

    Educational Requirements

    Applicants must possess a minimum four-year qualification in Agricultural Sciences with strong knowledge in:

    • Seed Science
    • Botany
    • Crop Production
    • Plant Pathology
    • Entomology
    • Seed Legislation

    Experience Requirements

    • Relevant working experience in agriculture or seed trade is advantageous
    • Previous study years will not be counted as work experience

    Language Requirements

    • Fluency in English is essential
    • Afrikaans proficiency will be an added advantage

    Additional Requirements

    Candidates must:

    • Possess excellent writing and communication skills
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities
    • Be confident when speaking publicly
    • Provide a minimum of four professional references

    • Have advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems
    • Be willing to travel extensively
    • Hold a valid Code B driver’s license
    • Have no criminal record
    • Be a natural-born South African citizen
    • Be currently based in Pretoria
