Fully Funded SRHR Litigation Training in Africa 2026 at the University of Pretoria
Pretoria, South Africa – June 2026 — The Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria has announced that applications are now open for its 2026 Training on Litigation of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Before National and Regional Mechanisms in Africa, a fully funded intensive programme aimed at strengthening legal capacity in human rights advocacy across the continent.
The training is designed for legal practitioners, human rights defenders, researchers, and civil society actors working in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). It focuses on enhancing practical litigation skills and strengthening the use of legal frameworks to advance accountability and justice in African contexts.
The programme will provide participants with specialized training in strategic litigation, human rights law, and the use of national and regional legal mechanisms to promote and protect SRHR.
Organised by the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to build legal capacity among professionals working to address human rights violations and advance access to justice across Africa.
The training is structured as an intensive residential programme, bringing together participants from across the continent to engage in practical learning, case-based analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.
