ACET is currently recruiting a Technical Lead for its Inclusive Digital Economy Project under the Digital Futures Program, an initiative aligned with the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy in partnership with Sightsavers.
This consultancy-based leadership role offers professionals the opportunity to contribute directly to Africa’s digital transformation agenda while influencing inclusive digital policies across the continent. About the Inclusive Digital Economy Project
The Inclusive Digital Economy Project forms part of the broader Digital Futures Program, which seeks to improve access to meaningful employment opportunities for young people with disabilities across Africa. The project recognizes that disability inclusion, diversity, and equitable access to digital opportunities are essential pillars of Africa’s economic transformation journey.
The program is designed to run for five years and focuses on several strategic interventions, including:

Core Focus Areas of the Project
1. Understanding the Digital Inclusion Landscape
One of the major responsibilities under the project involves establishing an African Digital Economy Policy Monitor or Observatory. This initiative will track the development, parliamentary approval, implementation, and effectiveness of inclusive digital policies across African countries.

2. Learning, Research, and Knowledge Sharing
Another key component of the project centers on research and peer learning. The selected Technical Lead will coordinate research activities including:
The project also aims to organize virtual peer-learning sessions and policy dialogues that bring together experts, governments, institutions, and stakeholders from different regions.
These engagements will help countries learn from global best practices and strengthen national policy reforms related to digital inclusion and accessibility.
3. Policy Influencing and Continental Advocacy
ACET also seeks to drive high-level policy engagement with the African Union and regional institutions. The project intends to activate a continent-wide dialogue around inclusive digital economy policies and support implementation of the African Union Digital Transformation Strategy.

Responsibilities of the Technical Lead
