Overview
The Technical Support Operator serves as the front line in providing exceptional customer service at the 24/7 help desk, ensuring customers have excellent experiences with web hosting services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide customer support via the 24/7 helpdesk.
- Troubleshoot email delivery issues and web hosting platforms (cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin).
- Troubleshoot DNS, FTP, SSL, Apache, and other service-related issues.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and go above and beyond to resolve issues.
- Respond to customer inquiries primarily via email, with occasional live chat and phone support.
- Handle pressure effectively during urgent situations and multitask across multiple brands.
Requirements
- Customer-focused with superior analytic skills.
- Excellent written English and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with Linux (bash), Apache, PHP, MySQL, and standard web hosting applications.
- Experience with control panels such as cPanel/WHM, Plesk, or DirectAdmin.
- Knowledge of Iptables firewalls and common website apps (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
- Ability to derive context from customer issues and request complete error messages.
- Knowledge of programming languages like PHP, Python, Perl, and Ruby on Rails is a bonus.
