    Overview

    The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is an excellence-based award for outstanding international students from non-EU/EEA countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. The scholarship aims to attract talented students demonstrating strong academic performance and leadership potential.

    Benefits

    The UTS provides financial support for study-related expenses, ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 per year. Funds are given to students to allocate towards tuition fees, living expenses, study materials, or accommodation. For two-year Master's programmes, students may receive a second-year scholarship if academic performance conditions are met. Additionally, some applicants may be considered for the Kipaji Scholarship.

    Requirements

    • Non-EU/EEA students.
    • Admission to a qualifying Master’s programme at the University of Twente.
    • Received a conditional admission letter and student number.
    • Meet Dutch visa requirements (if applicable).
    • Demonstrate strong English language proficiency (IELTS Academic score of 6.5 or TOEFL iBT score of 90).
    • Belong to the top 5–10% of their graduating class at their previous university.
    • Not eligible for Dutch statutory tuition fees.
    • Specific Master's programmes and applicants from EU/EEA countries, Dutch citizens, and current University of Twente students are not eligible.

    How to Apply

    1. Apply for a Master’s degree at the University of Twente and obtain a conditional admission letter.
    2. Once admitted, submit a scholarship application using your student number.

    Deadline

    There are two application rounds for programmes starting in September 2026:
    Round 1: Deadline is 1 February 2026.
    Round 2: Deadline is 1 May 2026.
