The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), through Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), is inviting applications for the 2026 STEM Trainee Programme in Nigeria. This six-month internship programme is designed to empower young women pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by providing practical experience in sustainable energy, climate finance, policy development, and renewable energy implementation.

The programme offers an exceptional opportunity for women in Nigeria to gain hands-on exposure to one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors while contributing to the global transition toward clean and sustainable energy.

Applications are open until 12 June 2026.

About the UNOPS STEM Trainee Programme

Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), hosted by UNOPS, works globally to accelerate progress toward universal energy access, renewable energy adoption, climate action, and sustainable development.

The STEM Trainee Programme was created to increase women’s participation in the energy sector by providing practical training, professional development opportunities, and direct engagement with clean energy projects.

The initiative recognizes that women remain underrepresented in energy-related careers and decision-making positions despite being disproportionately affected by energy poverty and climate-related challenges.

Through this traineeship, participants will gain valuable technical and professional skills that can help launch successful careers in renewable energy, climate finance, sustainable development, and energy policy.
