Job Title: WINGS Board of Directors Member
Job Location: International (Remote with occasional travel)
Closing Date: 31 July 2025
Contract: Three-year term, renewable
The new board members will provide strategic leadership, promote diversity, and support WINGS in achieving its mission.
Key Candidate Criteria
Encouraged Backgrounds and Experience
- Representation from Africa, the Middle East, or Asia-Pacific regions
- Experience in community or Indigenous philanthropy, corporate foundations, family offices, or high-net-worth philanthropy
- Expertise in fundraising, blended finance, development finance, or impact investing
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Demonstrated leadership in philanthropy or non-profit sectors with a global outlook
- Strong connections within philanthropy networks and organizations in their region
- Ability to commit time and resources, and act as an ambassador for WINGS
- Fluency in English
Additional Qualifications
- Credibility in philanthropy at national, regional, or international levels
- Experience in managerial, executive, or board roles
- Willingness to support fundraising efforts and promote WINGS’ mission
- Ability to identify and develop new partnerships and funding opportunities
Responsibilities of WINGS Board Members
- Co-create and periodically revise strategic orientations
- Support the Executive Director and provide strategic guidance
- Engage in fundraising and act as ambassadors for WINGS
- Attend at least three of four annual board meetings (including one face-to-face meeting) and participate in committee work
- Contribute approximately 15 working days annually, including travel and remote work
- Support organizational governance, advocacy, and fundraising efforts
- Uphold the values and mission of WINGS

- Up to three vacancies available, with three-year terms beginning January 1, 2026, renewable once
- Open to both WINGS members and non-members (membership should be in good standing or initiated before the term begins)
