The Women Environmental Programme (WEP) has officially opened applications for the WomenPower2030 Seed Grant 2026, inviting eligible women-led and women’s rights organizations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone to apply for funding of up to €5,000 to implement innovative initiatives that advance gender equality, climate justice, and sustainable development.

The grant forms part of the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Actions for Sustainable Development initiative, a global partnership supported through a Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) between the European Union and a consortium of leading feminist organizations.

Through this funding opportunity, selected organizations will implement projects that strengthen women’s leadership, influence public policies, promote gender-responsive climate action, and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    About the WomenPower2030 Project

WomenPower2030 is an international initiative designed to strengthen the participation and leadership of women, girls, and marginalized groups in sustainable development and climate governance.

The project seeks to ensure that feminist organizations and women’s civil society organizations play an active role in designing, implementing, and monitoring policies and programmes that promote inclusive and gender-just development.

The overall objective is to advance the rights and leadership of women, girls, and marginalized communities while accelerating progress toward sustainable development.

    Consortium Behind the Initiative

WomenPower2030 is implemented through a partnership led by Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF) alongside four international feminist organizations:

    • Women Environmental Programme (WEP)
    • African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET)
    • Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD)
    • Fundación para Estudio e Investigación de la Mujer (FEIM)

Together, these organizations work to amplify feminist leadership and influence sustainable development policies at national, regional, and global levels.
