Humanitarian and development organisations rely heavily on strong internal systems to deliver meaningful change.
One such opportunity exists with Seefar Foundation, a mission-driven organisation seeking an Operations Assistant to help streamline recruitment, onboarding, and operational processes across its international programmes.
The Operations Assistant position is a full-time, independent contractor role designed for candidates based in MENA or European time zones. The contract runs from mid-March to the end of April 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on funding and performance.
The successful candidate plays a key supporting role in ensuring that Seefar’s internal systems function efficiently.
By assisting with recruitment coordination, HR administration, and operational processes, the role contributes directly to the organisation’s broader mission of creating social impact.
Seefar Foundation is a social enterprise focused on transforming the lives of vulnerable populations. Its work combines insights from technology, psychology, and behaviour change to help individuals build confidence, skills, and resilience.
The organisation partners with governments and NGOs to address complex global challenges, including irregular migration, poverty, human trafficking, violent extremism, and access to justice. Alongside its sister company, Farsight Global, Seefar delivers research, advisory services, and programmes across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
With a team of over 100 consultants, the organisation operates as a dynamic and innovative social impact engine.
The Operations Assistant contributes to maintaining and improving internal systems. Tasks include managing data entry, organising digital files, maintaining task trackers, and supporting workflow documentation. The role also involves assisting with automation tools and identifying inefficiencies in existing processes.
A significant portion of the role focuses on recruitment and HR coordination. Responsibilities include screening applications, scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate records, and supporting onboarding and offboarding processes. The assistant also handles internal HR communications and responds to inquiries.
The role requires organising documentation for audits and ensuring compliance records are up to date. This includes tracking required documents, updating HR checklists, and supporting standard operating procedure (SOP) version control.
This position offers valuable exposure to multiple operational areas within an international organisation. The Operations Assistant gains hands-on experience in recruitment, HR systems, compliance processes, and workflow automation.
Additionally, the role provides insight into how NGOs operate in complex, multi-donor environments. Candidates also develop practical skills in communication, coordination, and systems management while working alongside experienced professionals in the humanitarian and development sectors.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Clear written and spoken English is essential, along with confidence in using tools such as Google Workspace and spreadsheets.
Candidates should be comfortable working remotely, handling confidential information professionally, and learning new technologies. Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms is considered an advantage.
A proactive mindset, reliability, and alignment with Seefar’s values—particularly adaptability and perseverance—are critical for success in this role.
While the role is open to early-career professionals (0–2 years of experience), prior exposure to HR, recruitment, or administrative work is beneficial. Experience with databases, compliance processes, or task management systems is also advantageous.
An interest in working within international, remote, and mission-driven environments further strengthens a candidate’s suitability.
Behind every successful humanitarian programme lies a foundation of effective operations and people management. The Operations Assistant role at Seefar Foundation is not just administrative—it is integral to enabling teams to deliver high-impact work across the globe.
By supporting recruitment, maintaining compliance, and improving internal systems, the role helps ensure that the right people are in place to drive meaningful change.
