    Job Summary

    The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking an External Consultant to provide technical advisory support to the WHO Youth Council, enhancing youth participation and advancing youth-led initiatives across the organization.

    The role involves remote work, with potential travel to key events, and offers an opportunity to influence global health through youth engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support Youth Engagement Initiatives

    • Provide expert advice on adolescent, digital, mental, and urban health.
    • Coordinate follow-up actions from the Global Model WHO Conference.
    • Design and deliver capacity-building and educational opportunities for young people in target health areas.

    Guidance on Youth Council Working Groups

    • Offer technical guidance on the scope and deliverables of three Youth Council working groups: Health Education and Literacy; Accessibility and Equity; Planetary Health.
    • Collaborate with Co-Chairs and WHO technical focal points to develop implementation plans aligned with funding agreements and deadlines.

    Communication Strategy Development

    • Develop a Youth Engagement Communication Plan with the YC Communications Committee, including key messages and channels, to be finalized by December 2026.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Educational Qualifications

    • Essential: Advanced university degree in public health, global health, global affairs, or related fields.
    • Desirable: PhD in relevant areas.

    Experience

    • Essential: Minimum of five years in public health, including at least two years working on youth programs.
    • Desirable: Experience within United Nations organizations.

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.
    • Expert command of English.

    • This is a home-based role with planned travel for key meetings:
    • Youth Council in October 2026
    • World Health Summit, 9-12 October 2026
    • Global Model WHO Conference, 10-13 November 2026

    Remuneration

    • Band level B: US$7,000–9,980 per month (excluding travel costs).
