    Overview

    Applications are invited for the 2021 UNESCO International Centre for Biotechnology (UNECO ICB) Scholarship Award, aimed at developing human capital in Nigeria through biotechnology research and training in food security, tropical diseases, and bioresources conservation.

    Benefits

    • Award for one academic year covering tuition fees, accommodation, books, and living expenses.
    • 45 scholarships awarded annually across three categories: Final Year Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and PhD.

    Requirements

    • Currently registered in a tertiary academic institution in Nigeria.
    • Course of study must be biotechnology or a related discipline relevant to the Centre's thematic areas.
    • Minimum CGPA of 2nd Class Upper (2:1) for Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD applicants.
    • Preference for First Class students or those at the top of their class.
    • Not more than one award per scholarship category per thematic area from any academic institution.
    • Must provide a motivation letter, copies of student ID and admission letter, academic transcripts, and a supporting letter from the Head of Department.
    • Successful candidates must attend an Award Ceremony and present their research findings.
    • Awardees must acknowledge the Centre in all publications and deposit copies of publications with the Centre.
