The Agribusiness e-Academy Innovation Challenge 2026 (Window 2) is a powerful opportunity for young and emerging agripreneurs to transform their ideas into viable, climate-smart businesses. Designed and implemented by the Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) in collaboration with GIZ and international partners, this initiative provides a free, structured learning pathway that equips participants with the skills, tools, and knowledge required to build investment-ready agribusiness concepts.
In addition to gaining high-quality training, participants stand a chance to win €2,000 in funding, mentorship support, or a tablet/laptop, making this program a unique blend of learning, innovation, and opportunity.
The Agribusiness e-Academy is designed to address a critical gap in Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem: limited access to funding for early-stage agribusinesses. Statistics show that only a small percentage of startups secure external funding due to weak business models, lack of financial clarity, and insufficient climate-smart planning.
This initiative directly tackles these challenges by offering:
A step-by-step online learning pathway
Practical tools for building investment-ready agribusinesses
Exposure to climate-smart agricultural practices
Opportunities to pitch and win funding or support
The Agribusiness e-Academy Innovation Challenge is designed to help participants:
Build strong business logic and financial viability
Develop climate-resilient agribusiness strategies
Increase their chances of securing investment
Transform ideas into scalable and sustainable enterprises
This is particularly important in Africa, where agribusiness plays a key role in economic development, employment, and food security.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be 18 years or older
Be based in a member state of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS)
Have an agribusiness idea related to:
Cocoa

Livestock (cattle, sheep, goats)
This ensures that the program targets high-impact agricultural value chains.

Learn how to design and structure a business model
Understand costs, pricing, and revenue streams
Identify climate risks within your value chain
Develop risk mitigation and adaptation strategies
Assess business viability
Prepare your idea for investors and funding opportunities
Apply all learning into a Business Model Canvas tailored to your idea
Transform your concept into an investment-ready proposal
Participants who successfully complete the program and submit their AgriCanvas stand a chance to win:
