The European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA) has officially opened applications for its Youth Democracy Delegates Programme 2026–2027, inviting young people from across Europe to play an active role in strengthening democracy, civic participation, digital innovation, and public engagement.
The initiative seeks to empower a new generation of youth leaders who are passionate about digital rights, media literacy, democratic participation, and shaping the future of technology within democratic societies.
Applications are open until 20 June 2026, offering selected participants the opportunity to join a growing network of young changemakers working alongside ALDA’s Digital & Innovation Hub.
As democratic institutions across Europe navigate challenges linked to digital transformation, misinformation, artificial intelligence, and civic engagement, ALDA believes young people must play a central role in shaping future solutions.

Selected delegates will serve as bridges between their local communities and wider European networks focused on democracy and digital participation.
According to ALDA, delegates will bring their own experiences, perspectives, and local realities into the programme while helping strengthen youth representation in policy discussions and civic initiatives.
