Overview
The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is offering a Research Intern position in Strategy and National Security, aimed at students and early-career researchers interested in global security and strategic analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to research projects on hybrid warfare, terrorism, forecasting, and financial intelligence.
- Assist in gathering and analysing data relevant to strategic and security issues.
- Support the organisation of workshops, roundtables, and policy discussions.
- Assist with logistics and coordination for high-level events.
- Engage in initiatives related to crowd forecasting, collective intelligence, and strategic risk analysis.
- Gain insight into how IISS conducts research and influences policy discussions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in International Relations, Defence and Security Studies, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong writing skills in English.
- Available to start the internship on 30 March 2026.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom (visa sponsorship not provided).
