    Overview

    Applicants can secure funding for locally led research on Nature-Based Climate Actions (NBCAs) through the BIOCAM4 Mini-Grant Fellowship Programme. This fellowship aims to strengthen evidence-based climate and biodiversity policymaking while supporting innovative research addressing Africa's pressing environmental challenges.

    Eligibility

    This fellowship targets early-career researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in Africa. Applicants must be within five years of completing their highest qualification or possess equivalent professional experience, be affiliated with an institution in Africa, and submit a concept note aligned with BIOCAM4 priorities.

    Benefits

    Selected fellows will receive €3,000 in research funding to undertake country-specific studies over an eight-month period. The funding may be utilized for fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis, and research implementation.

    How to Apply

    Applicants must submit a complete application package comprising a one-page motivation letter, a CV (maximum four pages), a 700–1,500-word concept note, and two reference letters from senior academics or policymakers. All documents should be combined into a single PDF and submitted electronically.
