Overview

This position offers the opportunity to support humanitarian efforts across multiple African countries, particularly in the East and Horn of Africa regions, serving as part of Human Rights Watch’s mission to document and respond to human rights violations globally.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct human rights investigations across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Produce reports, briefings, and advocacy materials.
Engage with governments, civil society, and media.
Coordinate public campaigns and policy interventions.
Support administrative tasks including meeting coordination and document preparation.
Assist with field logistics and maintain communication between HRW offices and external partners.
Provide on-the-ground support during field missions and regional engagements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human rights, international relations, social sciences, or related fields.
At least one year of relevant professional experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Valid work authorization in Kenya.
Demonstrated interest in human rights and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Benefits

Competitive salary range of USD $35,000 to $36,400 annually, along with employer-provided benefits.
